Torrential Rain, Strung Out Review
Torrential Rain is a German progressive metalcore band with a growing fanbase located in over 72 countries. The high flyers focus on the guiding principle of “power meets precision” as they combine progressive-virtuosic instrument writing with melodic vocal melodies. The quartet hailing from Nürnberg creates songs with a balance of brute force and delicate thoughtfulness as they present an American metalcore sound to Europe’s stages. There single “Home Alone has over 100,000 organic streams on Spotify. The band has teamed up with producer Christoph Wieczorek (SAWDUST RECORDINGS, ANNISOKAY) to craft their sound to perfection. Torrential Rain is now releasing their single, “Strung Out.” The band set out to push the boundaries of their abilities as the song features incredibly intricate instrumental parts coupled with soaring vocals and all packaged with raw aggression. Torrential Rain is Christopher Danner – Vocals/Guitar; Dario Trennert – Drums; Dominik Grauvogl – Vocals/Bass; and Gordian Golder – Guitar/Vocals.
Positives: Solid metalcore sounds fill “Strung Out,” beautiful singing, songwriting, and playing. Bottom Line: “Strung Out” opens with a tight chord riff that leads to the thunderous power of driving double bass drums, thumping bass, and a melodic harmonized guitar melody. The metalcore styled throaty vocals are sung over an intricate guitar arpeggiated counterpoint. The two combine with the power of the rhythm section to drive “Strung Out” with raw energy. The instruments’ drive and aggression bring even greater urgency to the lyrics, “Repressing, hiding, fighting feelings of self-doubt, There’s just no end to this hell.” The chorus is big with impressive band hits and vocal harmonies and call and response between djent vocals and melodic vocals. The guitar parts are very interactive and technically brilliant. The band varies the intensity in different sections of the song form to give interest and moments of excitement and breaths. Torrential Rain has found an exciting sound of technical playing with melodic harmonies and vocal melodies. They are one to watch, and that’s the short of it!Connect with Torrential Rain: Website |
