Maya de Vitry is a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter that has a special gift for lyrics and melodies combined they form emotive vibrations that speak directly to the soul. De Vitry was a member of the now disbanded string band, The Stray Birds. Making the transition into being a solo artist, de Vitry is releasing her first full-length album titled, Adaptations. Featuring twelve tracks all penned by de Vitry, apart from three tracks, which she co-wrote. The music is presented with a wide variety of instruments and vocal harmonies. Each track has lyrics that will stimulate, entertain and bring forth images and emotions. The tunes where written in summer of 2016 while de Vitry turned inward via the solace of wilderness and allowing it to be her muse. Quietly the silence gave up its secrets of reflection and growth, presence and connection, choice and transformation. The result of this introspection is Adaptations, which plays beautifully. Produced and engineered by Dan Knobler with an outstanding band in Nashville, each song comes to life with imagery and transcendence.
