Laura Lala is a vocalist, composer. lyricist and pianist based in Italy. She studied piano with Mauro Schiavone, graduated from the DAMS Music of Palermo with honors with a thesis on Billie Holiday related by the musicologist Marcello Piras. Lala moved to Rome to attend the Saint Louis College of Music, where she continued studying jazz and singing with Cinzia Spata and Elisabetta Antonini. There she earned a Diploma in jazz singing. Lala also had the opportunity to study with: Sheila Jordan, Norma Winstone, Mark Murphy, Rosalba Bentivoglio, Katleen Perry, Susanne Abbhuel. Lala’s compositional style brings the sounds of European jazz and American jazz together in a unique way. Lala has a new album out titled, Coraggio. With eight original compositions that have elements of world music, Latin jazz, European jazz and American jazz; all presented with Lala’s beautifully controlled vocals and stunning lyrics.
