Micky James, Cry Baby Review
Micky James was born and raised in New York City and that energy of the city has inspired James to become an artist and performer from an early age. In his music and personal style, James explores a sound and aesthetic that is nostalgic of a bygone era in rock n roll music, while still maintaining a contemporary pop/rock ambition. James’ vocals are inspired by the great character voices such as David Bowie and Julian Casablancas, alluding to the dark, mysterious, and romantic qualities that are so distinct to those artists. While James’ flamboyant fashions evoke the glamour and swagger of past rock icons, his work is both equal parts style and substance. His music is inspired by the authentic energy of 60s and 70s iconic rock bands, James is now creating a modern and fresh approach to a timeless genre. James explains, “I wanted to take pieces of nostalgia and give it a contemporary twist.” James is now releasing a new single titled, “Cry Baby.”

verse 1
Wondering if you’re pretty or you’re just pretty strange
Sunday, say you love me with a kiss and a bang
Monday falls to puzzle pieces, you play the game, ooh, ooh
Twisted up like Twister and you’re switching to Clue
You never even told me what you wanted to do
You frame me like a picture, and I can’t even move, ooh, ooh
Pre-Chorus
Hey, baby, you alright?
Why you so, so sad all night?
Hey, baby, you okay?
Why you so, so sad all day?
Hey, baby, dry your eyes
Why you always gotta –
Chorus
You’re such a crybaby
Go on and cry, baby, ooh
And cry, c-c-c-cry, cry
I said, “you are crazy”
She said, “go die, baby”
And cry, c-c-c-cry, baby
Verse 2
Does your heart go missing when you kiss with our teeth?
Running like a sinner that’s afraid of the heat
Spinning like a ballroom blitz, but can’t find the beat, ooh, ooh
Bridge
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
So cry me a wolf
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
‘Cause the river is full
Hey, baby, you alright?
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
