Turn3, On My Way Review
Turn3 is a Country infused with Roots Rock band based in Louisville, Kentucky. The band is Chris Donohue – vocals, John Wesselman – bass, Chad Donohue – guitar, Scott Soeder – drums, and Shaun Kennedy – guitar. The members build on their life experiences as musicians, fathers, and husbands to inspired and fill their music and lyrics. The result is something very authentic. The five-piece band has played together for many years, and though they started out as an original rock band moving to do covers, they have always built band chemistry. Turn3 has enjoyed success as a cover band but has now returned to writing original material. The group states, “We want to put out music we created and are proud of.” Turn3 is now releasing their first single from their upcoming 2020 album. The single is titled “On My Way” and personifies how the band views their journey.
Positives: A catchy chordal figure frames Donohue’s vocals. The feel is solid, the melody is memorable, and the band exudes joy in their sound. Bottom Line: Turn3 is a testament to keeping a dream alive while still juggling all the many challenges of being dads and husbands with day jobs. Their sound has elements of classic rock, country, and roots rock. The two guitars work together with the full support of the organ and the driving force of the bass and drums. Donohue’s vocals convey the lyrics with passion and clarity. “On My Way” is a feel-good tune that is catchy with a fun classic vibe. The guitar solo is tasteful, and the band does a good job of adding little variations through the form to add interest. Solid sounds coming out of Turn3 heading down the stretch to their upcoming album. That’s the short of it!Connect with Turn3: Website |
