Tablefox, Desire or Love Review
Tablefox is a five-member Indie rock band from Auckland NZ. Tablefox’s debut album, OBJECTS, was well-received both locally and internationally. The group has received Radio play on Rock FM and Radio Hauraki and performed on numerous national tours. In November of 2016, the band released their single “Under a Broken Smile,” ‘which was picked up by radio and received excellent reviews. Soon their sophomore album You and I Will Find a Way was released, and Tablefox toured New Zealand and Australia in support. The Anthemic singles “Nothing Ever Changes” and “Right or Wrong” were released, and the band toured NZ with Scottish legends Big Country, City Calm Down, The Feelers, The Charlatans, and James the band played a packed headline show at Auckland’s Anthology. Tablefox followed up with the stadium belter “Always Always,” recorded by Scott Seabright Productions and mastered by Ryan Smith (ACDC, Greta Van Fleet) at Stirling Sound. “Always Always” is the first single from the band’s forthcoming third album. Tablefox is now releasing their third single from the album, the single is titled “Desire or Love.”
Bottom Line: “Desire or Love” sees Tablefox return with three minutes of high energy post-punk riff n roll while retaining vocal melodies that immediately hook into the cerebellum. Opening with a slightly distorted guitar part that leads us to the band entrance, “Desire or Love” is a solid rock tune through and through. The mix is balanced, and the vocals are strongly supported by full guitars, bass, and drums. The riffs are catchy, and the lyrics keep your interest. The energy builds from verse to pre-chorus to chorus. The bridge has a solid feel change and falsetto singing, which grows back to the chorus. Tablefox keeps things clear and easy to follow, but the melody stays in the brain for sure. That’s the short of it!Connect with Tablefox: Website |
