KALO, No Shame Review
Bat-Or Kalo (KALO) is an Israeli guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Her music is based on sexy guitar, infectious rhythms, and smoky vocals. Bat-Or Kalo fronts her eponymous trio and also travels and tours the U.S. and Israel solo (wearing only her last name and her vintage Gibson electric guitar). Creating music with influences of rhythm and blues meets mighty rock n roll. In 2017, KALO released her studio album, Wild Change, which was fresh off the heels of Live in NYC, recorded at the renowned The Bitter End music club in New York City and released in late 2016. Based in the Midwest for the past three years as she zigzags the country, KALO’s roots run deep and trace back to her home an ocean away in Israel. KALO is now releasing her much-anticipated single, “No Shame.” a guitar-driven rock song about embracing pain and fear and feeling no shame in life’s struggles.
Positives: Solid sounds throughout, KALO is on to something good here. Bottom Line: “No Shame” is a guitar-driven rock song about embracing pain and fear and feeling no shame in life’s struggles. KALO recorded the song at BlueHouse Media in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the song features Bat-Or Kalo on guitars and vocals, Mike Alexander on drums and Tony Tino on bass. It was engineered by Joel Wade, Michael Block, and Brett Baldwin and mastered by Dave McNair. With a catchy rock beat and chordal riff, KALO builds a sound that has personality and drive. Her singing is passionate and growls in all the right places. KALO’s guitar solo is melodic, rich in tone and attitude. The mix and recording are all balanced, which allows KALO’s voice, guitar, and personality to shine through in spades. KALO delivers the R&B-Rock in a matter of fact manner that will make you take notice of this musical number. That’s the short of it!Connect with KALO: Website |
