Mighty Joe Nolan, Plain Jane 20th Anniversary Edition
Joe Nolan is a singer and songwriter that has been spinning out his well-crated music from East Nashville since 1992. Nolan moved to Nashville from Detroit and soon signed his first publishing contract with Black and White Music (BMI). He began performing and recording with Pat Flynn (New Grass Revival), who co-produced Nolan’s critically-acclaimed debut CD Plain Jane. That album would be the first of four albums on the “right side of the Cumberland River,” thirteen years before the neighborhood had Rolling Stone naming Nashville the “Best Music Scene” in the country. Nolan has gigged all over the U.S. and Europe, and he was one of the winners of the inaugural Nashville Film Festival Song Competition in 2017. He’s planning multiple releases this year including a new album titled, The Wicked. Nolan is releasing a 20th Anniversary Edition of his debut album titled, Plain Jane 20th Anniversary Edition. Nolan’s acoustic guitar and howling harmonica frames his slightly nasal voice. The lyrics are delightful and in this time period of Nolan’s career the comparison to Bob Dylan has to be acknowledged. The album contains eleven tracks plus two bonus tracks, for a total of thirteen. That’s the short of it!
