Gin Blossoms, Mixed Reality Review

Mixed Reality is a brand-new album from one of the most successful melodic alternative rock bands still making music today, Gin Blossoms. The Blossoms have had their ups and downs, but have consistently created great songs, and believe it or not, they celebrated their 25-year anniversary of their seminal 1992 multi-platinum album New Miserable Experience. The band has compiled fifteen new songs for Mixed Reality, which was produced by Don Dixon and engineered by Mitch Easter. The songs are excellent, cover a wide range of emotion and are full of the melodic sounds, which is what we all love about Gin Blossoms. The album celebrates where the band is as songwriters and band mates, with Wilson, Leen, Johnson and Valenzuela all contributing material. Mixed Reality is their first new album in almost eight years and brings music that is the next level for the Gin Blossoms, think New Miserable Experience on steroids.
