Based in Austin, TX., Dr. Joe is comprised of Patrick Young; Brennan Howell; Pierce Saxon and Joe Sparacino. They describe their influences as: Elton John, Bill Withers, Ray Charles, Leon Russell, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Ben Folds, Nina Simone, Dr. John, Hiromi Uehara, certainly and wide breadth of styles. They title their music as Fuzz Gospel/Blue Eyed Soul/Rock and Roll. Certainly, based in Austin, their music is certainly steeped in heritage. Bottom Line

Featuring the bands pedal effected Fender Rhodes sound, the single is produced by Vance Powell (four-time Grammy Award winning record producer) whose credits include Jack White, The Raconteurs, White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Chris Stapleton, etc. Recorded in East Nashville it is a pulsating exuberant listen that goes full fuzz. Big open spaces, a build verse and a driving chorus create a sound that has a whole lot of foot tapping soulfulness. With a three female singers backing him, Dr. Joe sings with energy and on the edge through a solid song form. Looking for soul with joy; Dr. Joe has got your prescription. That’s the short of it!
