James has a remarkable ability to play advanced lead techniques with fluidity, but more importantly, everything he plays has a groove that feels good. Combine that with his ear for melody and not just shredding, and that makes James standout above the crowd.
James brings his fluid guitar technique and melodic compositional style to twelve tunes on Arrival that will astonish. James’ tunes cover multiple styles and feels in the heavy metal, hard rock style. His compositions traverse multiple sections that flow between activity and less-activity, giving the listen a change to breath. His tone is warm, balanced and his exceptional clean technique allows his subtleties in picking, tapping and articulating his phrases to come through the music to give it personality. There are plenty of memorable melodies for the ear to grab onto. The soloing and two-handed tapping techniques James performs are beautifully played and absolutely breath taking. James is taking shred guitar to a new level, as he cements his placement in the modern-day guitar hero arena with his solid album, Arrival. That’s the short of it!
