Nikita Afonso is a vocalist and songwriter that making a mark with unique brand of pop music. After winning MTV Cover of the Month in February 2017, Nikita went on to gain the title of Best New Artist of the Year at the 2017 International Portuguese Music Awards and was announced the winner of The Roxy Launch Project (2017.) Voted Best Musician in the South Okanagan by Okanagan Life Magazine (2015). She is a graduate of Contemporary Music and Technology, Selkirk College, Nelson, BC. Her six track EP Nikita Games was released in 2016, Now in 2019 her single “Holy, My Heart,” released on February 18, 2019.

Afonso’s breathy yet powerfully resonate voice is hauntingly beautiful. Articulate with plucking strings the textural dissonance of “Holy, My Heart,” is aching with desire and strong vocal harmonies that create a vibrant soundscape for Afonso to paint upon. With the sounds of rich acoustic guitar, that match Afonso's warm voice, "Holy, My Heart" is an outstanding pop tune. The form is solid and progresses to a satisfying climax. Her music is compelling and captivating, and crosses age boundaries for a delightful listen. That’s the short of it!
