Kicking Sunrise, Underneath Review

Hailing from Sewell, NJ is a band of four musicians, vocalist and songwriters that go by the name Kicking Sunrise. Cutting their teeth with YouTube post, the band developed their sound and extensive fan base in the South Jersey area. The independent record label Right Coast Music noticed Kicking Sunrise’s talent and signed the band. That prompted Kicking Sunrise to head to Southern California to record their debut album Here’s to the Sunrise, which was released in May of 2015. Since then, Kicking Sunrise has kept focused and has continued to build their catalog. Now Kicking Sunrise is releasing their latest single titled, “Underneath.”

Bottom Line

Kicking Sunrise has a sound that only comes from four dedicated musicians working together to create the best music they possibly can. “Underneath” has a well-structured melody through a form that has plenty of sounds to keep the ears interested. Each member is solid on their instrument and together they create a hip pop sound that is certainly danceable and memorable. The production is balanced and allows each instrument and vocal line to ring through and shine. This is an energetic pop tune that has a wide audience appeal and a lot of heart. “Underneath” has a sound that not only brings great vocals to the table, but well-played band parts too. That’s the short of it!
