John Adams, Kiss Every Stranger Review
John Adams, Kiss Every Stranger Review
John Adams is a Welsh singer/songwriter that draws influences from the honest songwriting style of James Morrison, Damien Rice, and David Gray. Adams continues to hone his craft, having spent many years as a songwriter playing gigs in venues across the UK as well as busking on the streets of Cardiff. In 2016, he quit his job as a Mathematics teacher to perform full time. Adams has gone on to support acts such as Take That, Lemar, Stooshe, T’Pau, and Katherine Jenkins. Adams’ EP No White Lies peaked at #2 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts. His last album You Never Know Who’s Listening, released in 2018, continues to build his fan base while accumulating over 9.7 million streams on Spotify. Adams starts 2020 with the release of his new single “Kiss Every Stranger, which is a unique blend of his heartfelt songwriting and pop beats and Adams’ warm, engaging vocal style.
Positives: Adams’ music is well-crafted lyrics delivered with his endearing vocal timbre and style. Bottom Line: “Kiss Every Stranger” delivers a strong message that questions the idea of ‘finding the one’ in romantic relationships: “It’s easy to find what you’re looking for if you know what it looks like, but what if you have no idea?” Adams says about the track. The acoustic piano is augmented with elements of electronica, and the beat is heavily pop-influenced. Adams’ vocal range is used to its fullest as the melody climbs through the form. Accompanying the single is a VEVO official music video directed by Rhys Davies from Furball Films. Adams has an instantly accessible style that presents his charismatic voice in a manner that is broad in nature, and his passion for touring will only find his fan base growing exponentially.
