Cecil, Toybox Review

England based, Berkshire born Cecil showed signs of her musical talents at a young age. Born into a musical family she was inspired by the sounds of her mother’s drum kit. She began to sing in her seminal years naturally progressing to sitting at the piano in her early teens. Her musical direction quickly grew from piecing together adolescent lyrics to producing credible songwriting and captivating live performances. Another inspiration in Cecil’s journey comes in the form of her Great Uncle, Cecil McGivern. An instrumental figure, who was a broadcasting pioneer and went on to earn the prestigious accolade of an Oscar nomination for his screenplay of the classic 1946 version of ‘Great Expectations.’ Cecil is currently working on her debut album, but until that time listeners can enjoy “Toybox,” a richly hued dark-pop single. That’s the short of it!

The facile villain in Cecil’s Halloween inspired video “Toybox” offers a sinister foil to Cecil’s angelically dainty voice. Exuding with not much more than a whisper, the menacingly hued video features the highly ethereal and capable voice of Cecil.
