Wiese, Somebody Else Review
Wiese (Trygve Wiese) is a Norwegian producer, DJ, and writer with millions of Spotify plays. Growing up in the same block in Bergen as Kygo and Alan Walker means he shares the same musical DNA and inspiration. Wiese has previously been signed to Warner Music, but needing something different, he has struck out on his own label. Spotify placed his single “Never Let Me Go” in their three most massive editorial lists in Norway, with a total of 500,000 followers. It’s currently 10th place on “Hits Don’t Lie,” above artists such as Kygo, Alan Walker, The Weeknd, and Martin Garrix. Super-catchy, well-produced, and superb song about the 90s! Spotify backed it with many large editorial playlists. Wiese is now releasing his next single, a catchy and well-produced electronic pop banger about the ’90s titled “Somebody Else.”
Bottom Line: “Somebody Else” opens with a crisp guitar figure joined by synths, bass, and drums. All the sounds work together in a balanced and musical manner. Wiese has an ear for full production that lets each part live in its own space to be heard. The female vocalist is well-recorded, and her timbre is lovely. She has just enough sexy overtone to make this a fantastic club tune. The way Wiese switches to acoustic guitar in the break-down section is a nice touch. Overall, Wiese is a producer and songwriter that knows how to focus on melodies and beats that are clear, well mix, and deliver the listener a music experience to remember. That’s the short of it!Connect with Wiese: Website |
