Bottom Line: “The Pressure” follows Porter’s hit “Back To Funk” with Martin Ikin and is the second single released on LoveJuice Records. The Deep House vibe is driven by a full bass line, danceable beat, and solid vocals. The song’s crossover potential will certainly build Porter’s fan base and continue his trajectory upward. The vocals are sung by Shannon Saunders, previously featured on Sonny Fodera’s album, and dance music writing powerhouse Dee Adams, who has written for Wilkinson, Lowsteppa, Snakehips, and more. “The Pressure” is his first commercial independent release outside of his major-label deal. Porter says this about the song, “So excited to see this release see the light of day. I have spent most of the first lockdown working on this production and was quite literally feeling the pressure!. I feel people need music now more than ever.” Starting right-on it with Fodera’s warm vocals singing over a light synth sound and drums, the energy feel wonderful right from the start. The big House bass joins as the vocal samples swirl around the pulse. Porter’s subtle use of layering develops the song as each section surges forward. The bass line is the driving force, along with Fodera’s vocals. Porter’s drums have enough variance not to sound static, and the beat is certainly dance floor ready. Solid sounds throughout “The Pressure,” and that’ the short of it!Connect with Sammy Porter: Website |
