Nadisko, On It Review
Nadisko was formed in Sydney Australia during the Myspace glory days of mid-2008. The electronic duo Nadisko is Alex Hopkins and Blake Wood. They quickly cemented themselves as premier resident DJs in Sydney, becoming synonymous with the electronic music community’s underground techno. They gained airplay on BBC Radio One for their debut EP, they supported Steve Aoki, Tiga, Uffie and oodles more massive names, remixed Peking Duk’s first EP, and played shows across Australia, Europe, and Central America. With over 50 releases on various independent labels worldwide, with sounds of finesse house, techno, and electronica to combine all elements of dance within their new musical offerings. Nadisko has joined Brook Gee Records, enjoying a year of sustained growth with a release schedule shining a light on some of the finest emerging Producers in the business. This month, they deliver Nadisko armed with a single that is already picking up significant attention from those who know the very best in dance music when they hear it. “On It” is given a full treatment from production to an award-winning video, and it is no less than this superb piece of work deserves.
Bottom Line: “On It” features Henning’s sublime vocals and has a storyline of being in a troubled relationship or situation and searching for a solution, without ever finding it. Henning’s chilling vocals are supported by full-bodied synths. The song form has a balance of activity and instrumental density. The air left behind by removing the bass and drums in individual sections is a nice touch that is filled with creative synth sounds. The melodic lead is a perfect answer to Henning’s rich vocal tone. Hopkins says, “ON IT is an intimate reflection on the 2019 Australian Bushfires inspired with some sharp HENNING vocals.” The music video, produced by Digital Therapy titles Brendan Blacklock, head of Blacklock Media as the Director of Photography and Shane Salvador directing. It features Emmalene Tinson as the dancer and was shot in three separate locations in the outback, NSW. “On It” has drops with sub frequency bass and throbbing kick drums that let your body feel the music as the melodic content glides across the airwaves in shapes of plucks, acid squelches, and a stack of subtle synth pads. The club edit is especially thrilling. The result is music that will bring to life dance-floors, radios, headphones, and playlist. That’s the short of it!Follow Nadisko: HERE
