Lodato, Good Review
Lodato (Salvatore Lodato) has been shaking up the EDM scene for the last twenty years. The New York-based DJ and producer is known for his hard-driving remixes and original songs that always propel people to the dance floor. That is why he has received extensive club and radio airplay. Two of his collaborative singles, 2016’s “Older” (with Joseph Duveen) and 2018’s “Doomsday” (with VASSY), have reached number one on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. Lodato’s remixes have extensive support from artists on the Atlantic Records roster, on Top 40 Radio across the United States and Europe. His records continue to receive support from DJs like Tiesto, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Timmy Trumpet, Cash Cash & Mike Williams to name a few. Lodato’s 2019 original single “HOME,” reached #1 on the U.S. Dance Radio Chart and #1 on BPM’s “Top 20 Count Down” (Sirius XM) for three consecutive weeks. Lodato is now releasing his brand new single “Good” on Source/Spinnin Records.Positives: A catchy melody and hooks grab your attention as Lodato makes the beat come alive. Bottom Line: Lodato strikes the perfect balance between dance music and pop on his new single “Good.” The beat is certainly dance floor approved, but the catchy melody and strong female vocalist take “Good” into the pop arena. The sounds Lodato creates to surround the vocals are a mix of synthpop and contemporary dance music. The well-placed synth pads and jumpy beats keep things grounded as the hooks and catchy melody keep your attention. The accompanying video captures the mood of the track, which is a romantic meeting on the dancefloor that turn “Good.” The funky guitar strumming adds spice and funky elements. Lodato does an excellent job of waxing and waning the flow, but the overall shape is one that builds and makes a musical journey. The lyrics match the energy and story of the songs feel and emotion. The female vocalist does a solid job on this one and matches Lodato’s fantastic production skills. This is one to sing along with as you move your body on the dance floor. That’s the short of it!
