KLANGPLANET, Space Review
Frieder Mollat is a Munich-based songwriter/producer that started his music career in the mid 90’s following his passion for music. Mollat graduated with a degree in musicology, and in 1995 he joined the music industry working a few years for labels like Warner Music Germany. Over the years, he has been writing music for several projects, including signing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Germany in 2001. Starting in 2017, Mollat started to develop his catalog as a solo artist with the launch of his project, KLANGPLANET. With a focus on strong compositions and a style that incorporates retro dipped melodic Deep House with toppings of Funk, Soul and Indie Pop, KLANGPLANET released his debut album, Good. Always inspired by Space Missions, that is why Mollat chose KLANGPLANET (German translation = Soundplanet) as his moniker. Now he is releasing a new single title “Space,” which is also a tribute to his inspiration for Space Missions.
Positives: Bringing melodic sounds to the deep house style that is interesting as KLANGPLANET develops melodies, sounds, and tempos through a solid song form. Bottom Line: KLANGPLANET is a solid sound in the electronica genre. His deep house style is accessible and danceable. “Space” continues his sound journey through the hipospere of musical possibilities. Starting with a totally danceable beat and full, balanced production, “Space” brings in sounds of synths, talking, samples, guitar, and sing able melodies. The tempo is played within in very subtle ways that makes for an exciting listen. The transitions between the various sections make sense and each have a sense of flow. There is also a strong sense of musical development as the song progresses. These are all hallmarks of a great composer, which Mollat is in spades. That’s the short of it!Connect with KLANGPLANET: Website |
