Noah Schnacky, Thoughtfully Reckless Review

Noah Schnacky is an American singer-songwriter, social media personality, and actor. When Schnacky was eight, he started in the entertainment industry and continues to tour and be cast in episodic, film, print, live performance, voice-over, and theatre. Often referred to as a young “Ryan SeaCrest,” Schnacky was the host for Radio Disney’s talk show “Kids Concerns” for seven years. Schnacky has garnered over 92 million streams with his self-titled EP, and his self-released single, “Hello Beautiful,” skyrocketed to over one million streams in just eight days, which helped him land his record deal with Big Machine.

Schnacky’s new album, Thoughtfully Reckless, on Big Machine Records, is twelve songs that capture Schnacky’s creative spirit as he co-wrote eleven of the tracks. “This collection is raw and hopeful,” shares Schnacky. “Sometimes it’s hard to put out there, but it’s authentically everything I’ve been through myself, put in chronological order. I just hope that it connects. I hope someone hears this music and feels like they’re not alone, and it leaves them uplifted.” He has a new 2020 version of his search for love and happiness on the previously released hit single “Wherever You Are.” However, his collaboration with Jimmie Allen, “Don’t You Wanna Know,” misses the target with an electro-pop/Hip-Hop vibe that is very generic. Schnacky’s vocals are strong but, paired with the auto-tune of Allen, sounds misplaced. The vulnerable “Meet The Man” is a nice pairing of acoustic and pop-country sounds. Schnacky’s singing is solid, and the lyrics are storied. “Every Girl I’ve Ever Loved” is a fan favorite with over 47 million total global streams. Overall, Thoughtfully Reckless is an album that shows a developing artist searching for his sound and place in the crowded world of pop-country. Though his other talents will certainly pull him through to higher success, his crafting as a content creator is currently outshining Thoughtfully Reckless.
