The distinctive Nefesh Mountain is releasing their anticipated second full-length record Beneath The Open Sky. The album was recorded in Nashville and features: Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tony Trischka, and David Grier, as well, the New York City band Alan Grubner and Tim Kiah. Nefesh Mountain is bringing diversity back into bluegrass in a big way on Beneath The Open Sky. There are songs sung in Hebrew, but the soulful picking and singing is still everything we know and love and about Nefesh Mountain. An infusion of the pioneers of Jewish music meet with bluegrass and old-time musical traditions have outdone themselves on this release. Founders, husband, and wife team Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff, wrote or arranged all 11 songs, as well as co-produced the entire project from start to finish. Lindberg provides lead guitar and banjo throughout, while Zasloff vocals are clear and melodious. Beneath The Open Sky contains Nefesh Mountain’s most insightful and soul-stirring music that brings out the foundational similarities between bluegrass and Jewish traditions. Regardless of what the influence, this is great music, that’s the short of it!

Delightful singing and picking on every track. A nice collection of re-imagined traditional songs and originals. The album’s lone instrumental offering is a real treat and balances the offering for instrumental enthusiasts!
