Caitlin Quisenberry, Get Loud With Me Review
Caitlin Quisenberry is Nashville’s newest darling, and she is quickly gaining fans and respect in the country music community. Quisenberry’s exciting and fresh singing style results from singing and performing for more than a decade. At 14 years old, she worked with Grammy-winning producer Robert Cutarella on a four-song EP. The following year, she auditioned for American Idol, where she captured a Golden Ticket and was pushed through to Hollywood. In 2013, the vocalist was crowned Miss Colorado Outstanding Teen after singing to a sold-out audience at Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Quisenberry then decided to attend Pepperdine University, where she graduated with a degree in Philosophy, an emphasis in Vocal Performance, and a certificate in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Law School. As an actor, Quisenberry spent time in Hollywood doing national commercials, including Kelloggs Frosted Flakes and Doritos, along with her most notable role in the ABC TV sitcom, Blackish. Currently, the red-headed vocalist is enjoying success with a string of singles; “Blue,” “S.O.S.,” “Let Love Die,” and “Imogene.” Quisenberry is now releasing her next single titled, “Get Loud With Me,” her most dynamic country-pop track to date, blurring the lines between country-pop and EDM.
Bottom Line: “Get Loud With Me” is pulling sounds from the dance floor and traditional country combined with lyrics that have the Nashville depth and cleverly deliver a meaningful lesson about life’s clock ticking. Quisenberry says, “This song thrusts into the ‘fun gear’ the moment it begins! When I was recording it, I couldn’t stop dancing! It’s definitely a song to get the crowd going at a party or to get you through a tough workout. It’s energy and lyrics echo this theme, ‘Life’s short, so make the most of it; you only live once.'” The synth swells introduce the dance beat as Quisenberry’s smooth vocals enter. Her vocal timbre has a definite country tinge. Her upper register is powerful as she sings the chorus. The recording and production are spot-on for a big lush sound. The subtle guitar parts and vocal harmonies add texture. “Get Loud With Me” is country-pop that will flood the dance floor. Quisenberry confesses, “I love and have performed all genera’s of music, and although country is my favorite, it’s fun to mix it up for my listeners. I’m lucky to be living in a time where experimenting with genera’s is not only accepted but welcomed. I never want my music to get boring or sound the same. I want each songs’ release to be a unique artistic expression, resulting in exciting anticipation of what I will do next.” The mix results in a fun track that will appeal to a broad audience and gain this talented artist even more fans.
