Matty T Wall, Sidewinder Review

Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader MattyTWall comes from the land down under, more specifically Perth, Australia. His love for music has given him a style that distills a diversity of genres into his own blues-influenced soul, jazz and rock signature. Wall’s guitar playing exudes the raw emotions of the blues through his slide playing, stretching and bending of his strings, and a liberal knowledge of the blues vocabulary. His album Sidewinder is a collection of twelve tunes that are an enjoyable blend of blues and rock that will certainly catch and hold of your ear. Wall is capable of blazingly fast leads, but also knows how to say a lot with a little when the music calls for it. Wall and his band mates, Stephen Walker on bass and Rick Whittle, on drums delver the songs with heart and solid assurance. Wall delivers the goods on both guitar and vocals, both are soulful and a sonic treat. That’s the short of it!
